Easy Way To Remove Pesticides From Your Fruits And Vegetables 1 Shares

We all know that both fruits and veggies are covered in pesticides which are extremely hazardous for our overall health. In order to keep them safe from bugs, people tend to apply pesticides on fruits and vegetables, which we incorporate in our organism. This leads to numerous chronic illnesses. The best solution for us would be to find an effective way in which we can get rid of them.

Luckily, the National Institute of Nutrition launched the Dietary Standards for India just recently and they have introduced some basic steps which every home needs to adopt in order to get rid of the pesticide residual contamination.
WASHING
Cleaning with 2% of seawater is the first step and this will help you remove most of the contact pesticide residues which ucually appear on the surface of the veggies and fruits. Even 75 to 80% of pesticide is removed by washing with cold water. However, certain ingredients need 2-3 washings such as grapes, guava, pears, peaches, mangoes, plums, tomatoes, okra and brinjal. When it comes to green leafy vegetables, make sure to wash them thoroughly.

Do It Yourself WASH
In order to perform this method on your own, you’ll need to fill a large bowl with 1 part ACV and 4 parts water. After that, soak your ingredients in it and allow them to stay for an hour. In the end, take them out, provide them another quick rinse with water and you can eat them.

You will be able to see the gunk that came off the produce in the leftover of the “soaking water”. You can also use this mix in order to extend the life of your veggies and fruits so that they stay fresh for a longer period of time.
