Michael Jackson’s Daughter Breaks Silence Over Leaving Neverland Documentary

HBO’s recent Leaving Neverland documentary has re-opened many of the old sexual molestation allegations against late pop star Michael Jackson. Millions have been horrified by the revelations in the documentary, which reveal graphic anecdotes from two alleged victims that spent a lot of time with Jackson. This week, Jackson’s daughter Paris has spoken out for the first time, saying that she does not believe the allegations against her father and that she has no plans of watching a film that is attempting to tear down his legacy.

The allegations against Jackson are extremely serious and involve years of ongoing sexual assault against children who were essentially purchased from their parents.

Paris has not made a formal response to the documentary but has sparred with many critics on Twitter.

In one Twitter response, Paris said, “Yeah they do that to everyone with a good heart and tries to make a difference but do you really think that it’s possible to tear his name down? like do you truly believe they stand a chance? relax and have peace.”

In a previous interview with Rolling Stone in 2017, Paris responded to the allegations against her father, saying that “Picture your parent crying to you about the world hating him for something he didn’t do. For me, he was the only thing that mattered. To see my entire world in pain, I started to hate the world because of what they were doing to him. I’m like, “How can people be so mean?”’

The DailyStar reported that young Paris may be upset that all this controversy could put the brakes on her acting career.

“Paris had hoped to launch a successful career in acting but fears Leaving Neverland has ruined her chances of it taking off. She was in a movie last year but believes the documentary is already scaring directors away because the abuse her father is accused of may put movie goers off her. It all comes down to marketing. The worry is that any movies she stars in will be derailed if Michael’s abuse scandal is all people think about when they see her on screen. She wants to act but knows this could affect those plans,” a source told the DailyStar.

Many of the most chilling accusations come from alleged victims Wade Robson and James Safechuck who spent a lot of time with Jackson on his Neverland ranch.

Safechuck and Robson were both already fixtures in Hollywood as children, and that is actually where they met Jackson. Safechuck, stared in a Pepsi advertisement with Jackson when he was just ten years old. In the 1987 advertisement, the young child snuck into Jackson’s backstage dressing room. Meanwhile, Robson won a dance competition and was able to appear onstage during the Bad tour in Australia in 1988.

According to the boys, now men, and their families, Jackson promised to turn them into stars, and purchased them expensive gifts and trips around the world. After a while, both children began to tag along with Jackson on his many tours without their parents, and they say that they regularly slept in his bed. The families admit that they were distracted by the wealth that their relationship with Jackson brought into their family, so they overlooked the red flags that he was a potential predator. The parents say that over time they noticed that Jackson was beginning to cut the boys off from their families, but the money still kept them in denial, they say.

“He did buy us a house. It’s just coincidental, he wasn’t buying us off,’ but the timing’s right there. It just sounds bad,” mother Stephanie Safechuck said.

There are many graphic details in the documentary, which were highlighted in an exclusive report last week for vulture.

The Jackson estate has vehemently denied the accusations in the documentary, and have even filed a $100 million lawsuit against HBO.

According to CNN, a number of major radio stations in New Zealand have stopped airing Michael Jackson’s music. Even commercial broadcaster MediaWorks has jumped on the ban, and they were one of his major outlets. Then shortly after, CBC reported that three major Montreal-based radio stations in Canada have pulled Jackson’s music off the air. Even the Simpsons episode that featured Jackson has been taken off the air across the globe.
