THIS TINY, YET DISTURBING CREATURE RESIDES IN YOUR BODY, AND YOU WON’T BELIEVE IN WHICH PART EXACTLY… TAKE MEASURES TO PROTECT YOURSELF!

There is a high number of microorganisms and bacteria that get in our body on the daily basis. Most of them do not represent danger to our health, but there are also those that can be malignant. Today we are going to tell you about a tiny creature that can live on your face and feed on it for a long time without you even noticing it.

Demodex is a type of microscopic mite similar to a spider and it can live in areas such as face, where they breed, feed and die. Although it might seem that in order to get rid of it you just need a good facial soap, in reality it’s not that easy.

Despite the fact that word mite reminds you of malignant microorganisms, Demodex is not like that. This tiny mite is barely 0, 4 mm wide and it can also be found in the pores and follicles on the head.

It feeds on secretions and dead skin, and it possesses small claws and a structure in the form of a needle which allow it to exert the function of mouth with which it feeds on the cells of our skin.

It may sound unbelievable, but there are two types of Demodex can survive on our face:  the folliculorum and the Demodex brevis. Both are arthropods, in other words they belong to the group of animals with articulated legs like insects and crabs. Their closest relatives are spiders and ticks, which is why they’re so alike.

When this type of mite is observed through a microscope, you can see that it has eight short, chubby legs very close to its head, an elongated body like a worm and if you pay attention to the way they’re moving, it seems as if they are swimming over an oily surface, that is to say they don’t move fast and don’t travel long distances.

Even though this species doesn’t represent a great danger to the health, due to its presence some people suffer from a skin condition called rosacea, which mainly affects the face. Its most common symptoms are red spots on the face accompanied by irritation. Nevertheless recent studies proved that Dermodex is connected to these symptoms, but it doesn’t provoke them.
