Doctor’s Warning: Never Clean Your Child With Baby Wipes No Matter What!

The products that parents today use for their babies are significantly changed from the ones that our parents used for us. Today everything is much simpler and easier. Let’s take for example the baby wipes – parents used them for every situation. They are used to clean the baby’s face and hands and even the baby’s toys.

But are the new improved products (in our case baby wipes) actually safe the little ones? Although on the advertisements you will see that they are safe, some studies actually proved the opposite – that baby wipes are not 100% safe for the little ones. That is why all parents should be aware of.

Many experts in this topic are actually telling to the parents to stop using the baby wipes because that way you increase the risk of the child to have skin problems or even other complications.

Why are they not safe? They are not safe because they contain methylisothiazolinone, ingredient that can irritate the skin and it can be the reason for scaly skin and rashes.
There was a case where a little girl that was eight years old had rashes around her mouth and on her buttocks. And on those areas where the little girl had rashes, the mother actually used the baby wipes.

Another case that is linked with our problem here was when one Belgian man had severe allergic and chemical reaction to a chemical preservative called exactly as the ingredient we mentioned above that is contained into the baby wipes. And the reaction in the two cases where actually the same according to Dr. Mary Wu Chang, a professor at the University of Connecticut – Department of dermatology and pediatrics. In order to check the validity of the allergy she did the tests herself.
Dr. Chang told the mother to stop using the baby wipes, and the rashes were gone in no time. And that is why Dr. Chang advices for all the parents to throw away the baby wipes.
Brands such as Huggies, Johnson & Johnson, and Cottonelle contain the ingredient methylisothiazolinone. Instead of using them you should find a natural way.

Dr. Ellen Frankel is dermatologist that has the same opinion as Dr. Chang. If you ever go to buy a baby wipes then you should carefully read the ingredients and if you notice that there is methylisothiazolinone then you should not buy it no matter what. You should instead make yourself natural products at home.
