SHOCKING!!! Pampers Nappies Contain Carcinogens Linked To Cancers Of The Skin, Lungs, Bladder, Liver And Stomach
Parents always want what’s best for their newborns, however, using disposable diapers is not the best solution to keep them clean because they contain hazardous chemicals which increase their risk of developing cancer.
The French health association ASEF conducted a new research which showed that there are numerous carcinogenic substances contained in the popular Pampers brand which can cause cancer. Petroleum is one among them which is associated with the development of cancer.
Depending on the type of derivation, this substance can also contain other toxic chemical byproducts like polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, or PAHs.
Due to these substances, different types of cancers can be developed such as stomach, liver, bladder, lung and skin cancer. Parents are not even aware of the gravity of the situation because these chemicals are in close contact with their baby’s skin all day long. Ludivine Ferrer, head of ASEF spoke to the French paper Le Parisien and he said: “While it’s legal to have tiny traces, this is just too much from a moral perspective.”
Lawsuits target Pampers diapers for damaging chemicals not listed as ingredients
Unfortunately, the U.S law does not obligates the manufacturers to disclose every single ingredient used in these diapers. They only list petroleum, but in reality, there are numerous other hazardous chemicals contained in disposal diapers.
The baby’s private areas are in contact with all of these chemicals which increase the risk of cancer development.
According to a study conducted and published in 1999 by the journal Archives of Environmental Health, diaper emissions are both strong and persistent. The study’s lead author, Rosalind Anderson cited several chemicals “with documented respiratory toxicity,” which resulted in test mice developing asthma-like symptoms.
Styrene- a carcinogenic chemical known to cause cancer as well as ethyl benzene-an endocrine-disrupting, neuro-damaging, respiratory toxin are contained in diapers. Moreover, some researches show that diapers contain isopopylene which is a known neurotoxin which damages the liver and the kidneys but it can also lead to formation of cancer.
Procter & Gamble, owner of Pampers, have received at least 2 lawsuits over the chemical irritants used in several of the company’s diaper products.
Even though many clients called on the company to stop using these hazardous chemicals in the production of diapers and bring back the old versions, they did not succeed.
