Your Body Shape Reveals How Healthy You Are
Not many are aware that certain diseases and conditions can actually manifest on the body. Even when people do notice changes on their body, they generally take them for something else or disregard them as irrelevant.
The length of the legs, the amplitude of the arms, the size of the waist as well as other characteristics of the body, can be a factor for certain diseases.
FINGER LENGTH
It’s believed that women whose index finger is shorter than their ring finger, are at a double risk of developing osteoarthritis when they get older. Men generally have the same size of these two fingers. In women, this shows decreased estrogen levels, which reduces the risk of bone diseases. To prevent this condition, people with these characteristics are advised to do regular exercise and have the recommended calcium intake.
BRA SIZE
A study published in the Canadian Journal of Medical Association reveals that women who have D bra size in their twenties, are more susceptible to type 2 diabetes than those with smaller breasts. The study further explained that the fat tissue in breasts is sensitive to hormones, which affects insulin resistance. Luckily, diabetes can be prevented by maintaining a healthy weight, a balanced diet and regular workout.
LEG LENGTH
According to British experts, people with shorter legs should be more aware of their liver health. They found that women whose legs are 50-73cm long, have higher count of liver enzymes, which eventually causes liver disorder. This can also be prevented by avoiding alcohol and other toxins as much as possible.
