8 Natural Remedies For Arthritis in Hands
Arthritis is a condition that happens when the joint cartilage wears away and the bones start rubbing against each other. It can be very painful and can often affect your everyday life. Fenugreek seeds can reduce the arthritis pain within few months because of their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Soak 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds overnight and eat them the next morning, however strain them first. You should repeat this for a few months.
3.Turmeric
Turmeric has powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiseptic properties which make it an excellent remedy for arthritis pain. Drink a mixture of 1 teaspoon of turmeric, a little honey and a glass of warm milk. You can also prepare the mixture using water. Boil 1 liter of water with 1 tablespoon of turmeric and drink the liquid as soon as is cool enough. You should repeat every day.
4.Olive oil
Olive oil contains Oleocanthal, a compound that prevents the production of pro-inflammatory enzymes. You can reduce the risk of rheumatoid arthritis by consuming olive oil with food and you can also use it to massage the painful areas. Mix a few drops of lavender oil with warm olive oil and gently massage the painful area. This way the pain and inflammation will be reduced almost completely.
5.Honey and cinnamon
Honey has strong antiseptic properties and cinnamon is an excellent antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. The combination of these two powerful ingredients creates a strong remedy for relaxing stiff muscles and treating arthritis in hands. Drink a mixture of ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of honey every day for a few weeks, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach.
6.Epsom salt
Epsom salt can relieve almost all the inflammation, stiffness and pain caused by arthritis because it is rich in magnesium which is very beneficial for the bones. Soak your hands in a basin with warm water and 2 cups of Epsom salt for 30 minutes. You should repeat this 2-3 times a week for a month or until you notice improvement.
7.Apple cider vinegar
This is another excellent remedy for arthritis pain which can also improve your overall health. Put 1 tablespoon of organic ACV and a little honey in a glass of warm water and drink the mixture. You can also soak your joints in a bath of ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper and 1 cup of warm apple cider vinegar. Keep your hands for 15 minutes and then rinse.
8.Ice packs
Arthritis treatments don’t work the same for everyone. You can also try putting an ice pack on the affected area and keep it for 20 minutes. Repeat this a few times a day but make sure you put a towel on the skin before the ice pack to avoid frost bites.
