Principal Shaves Head To Teach Students Important Lesson About Bullying A Bald Kid
After Tim Hadley discovered his student was bullied for expressing solidarity and shaving his hair for his cancer-stricken grandfather, he shaved his head in front of everyone to prove a major point.
The things we learn in school are permanent. In that age we form our character, and the things we do shape our destiny. That’s why middle-school principal Tim Hadley knows that perfectly well, which is why he decided to teach his students a major point about bullying.
The principal did an unusual “stunt” in front of the students and let the bullied, bald kid, Jackson Johnston, shave his head in the hall. Jackson reason for being bald proves his enormous heart. He shaved his head in solidarity with his grandfather who’s battling cancer.
“To help lift Papa’s spirits and show that he was not alone, Jackson decided to shave his head,” Jackson’s mother, Amber Johnston told ABC News.
After shaving his head, Jackson returned to school on Monday and was bullied for shaving his hair like a “cancer patient.” Others referred to him as the “Bald Boy.”
When Tim Hadley, Iowa’s principal discovered what happened, he assembled the students and asked Jackson to shave his head in front of the students.
“I’m very proud of you Jackson,” said Tim before spelling out the importance of standing up for things and people close to our hearts
Tim’s point teached the students a major lesson about bulling. The principal told ABC News, “My big goal wasn’t the act of shaving, but rather, I wanted to show the kids that it’s important to stand up for each other and support one another.”
