A veterinarian captured touching moment between two sibling puppies being treated for Parvo
According to Pet MD, the canine parvovirus (CPV) infection is a highly contagious viral illness that affects dogs. The virus manifests itself in two different forms.
The more common form is the intestinal form, which is characterized by vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss and lack of appetite (anorexia). The less common form is the cardiac form, which attacks the heart muscles of fetuses and very young puppies, often leading to death.
The majority of cases are seen in puppies that are between six weeks and six months old. The incidence of canine parvovirus infections has been reduced radically by early vaccination in young puppies.
A veterinarian witnessed touching moment between two sibling puppies being treated for Parvo. The puppy brother comforts the sister who’s (probably) getting Intravenous Fluid (IV Fluids) which are a common way to administer fluids to dogs at the veterinary hospital. They are commonly used for any cause of dehydration and for conditions such as kidney disease and any cause of vomiting and diarrhea.
It’s not uncommon these days to see something so beautiful and touching, especially not in the era of mobile phones, cameras and internet.
I am truly happy to read that these two lovely puppies made a full recovery!
